Welcome!
I’m so glad you are visiting! I’m Karunya. I’m a DC-based foodie, a lover of all things travel, a tree hugger, fitness fanatic, yogi-in-training and health coach (IIN). I have always been passionate about food and cooking. I started iamstufft about five years ago showcase my kitchen creations to friends and family. I’d post maybe once, twice a month, nothing serious. But last year, I decided I wanted to take this blog to the next level. My goal is to inspire healthy eating and a sustainable lifestyle.
My why
I’ve always been a foodie. As a kid, I remember spending time with my grandmother watching cooking shows or just chatting with her about food. I became vegetarian around the age of 12 or 13. For me, eating meat never intuitively felt right. In my 20s, I really started focusing more on awareness of what goes into my body and my cooking style evolved to more healthy, balanced meals with mostly plant-based ingredients, primarily for ethical reasons. I found that plant based cooking could be flavorful, vibrant and delicious. While I’m not vegan yet, right now I’m eating 100% plant based at home, which means that Iamstufft will be featuring mostly vegan recipes. You may find some non-vegan recipes in the archives featuring eggs or dairy.
Indian Food
My mom is a great cook. It all started there. I grew up eating healthy, delicious Indian food and as I grew older, this is the cuisine I tend to crave! My favorite food in the world is just a simple dal and rice. While I experiment from cuisines from all over the world, I love to post adaptations of my family’s recipes and Indian-inspired dishes that come from the heart.
Why Iamstufft?
I love eating. Who doesn’t? But I’m also passionate about the impact of our food on our health and the planet. Iamstufft was created to show that you can be full and oh so satisfied with a vibrant vegetarian meal. The recipes here come from all over the world and focus on simple and flavorful results!
