Growing up, I never had many salads. My mom always preferred hot, cooked Indian food. Salads were considered bland health foods. But I think we were just doing it wrong! This spicy green tahini dressing is a game changer. It has green chilies, garlic, cilantro, creamy tahini and just a little bit of cumin.
I made it for my mom and she now enjoys it almost every day. She prepares it in advance and drizzles it on a bowl of roasted veggies, chickpeas and some salad greens. It tastes great on salads, but you can also use it on sandwiches, falafel, or pretty much anything!
My favorite tahini to use is Soom Foods tahini. It is rich and creamy and gives an amazing nutty taste. But feel free to choose whichever tahini you’d like.
It’s so flavorful that it really doesn’t make you feel like you are eating a health food, which was really important to my mom. The tahini, which is sesame paste offers good fats, which helps keep you fuller for longer. Plus, it takes only 5 minutes to prepare and keeps for almost 2 weeks.
