Strawberry Mango Salsa

June 14, 2019

I would never have thought to add strawberries to a salsa, but this salsa is just perfect. I tried it for the first time when visiting my aunt in Michigan and absolutely loved it! Fresh mangoes and strawberries, which are currently in season taste absolutely amazing with lime, salt and jalapeno. I kept dipping in with chips until it was all gone!

This is my best attempt at re-creating the recipe. (Shoutout to Anji Athai for the inspiration!) For this recipe, it is really important to select sweet, ripe mangoes that are soft, and not too stringy. Ataulfo would work well. I used fresh mangoes from my mom’s mango tree that were so sweet and delicious!

Some Tips on Making this Salsa

Choose only the Freshest Fruits! Summer strawberries are perfect and at their ripest. The best mangoes to use are Ataulfo and Champagne because they are sweet and not too stringy. Obviously if you have access to Alphonso mangoes, they are the best mangoes in the world!

Score the mango to utilize all the fruit. Here is a great instructional video on how to cut a mango. Trust Me! It will make your life a whole lot easier!

Adjust the seasoning! Depending on the sweetness of the fruits, you will need to adjust the salt and lime after the salsa is prepared. You are also welcome to add more chili!

The recipe is simple, but oh so delicious! I hope you love it!
